Our Camel

Little Fall Creek

My husband neglected to consult me on this one.

When a member of the church next-door asked if we would host a camel for a few days so that she could be walked over to appear in the Christmas nativity play each evening, my husband could hardly agree quickly enough.

No phone numbers were exchanged. Very few questions were asked. Mainly just, “How long do we get to keep her?”

It turns out she’s a stand-up gal named Tia. Mellow, friendly, and fond of carrots and alfalfa. Her hooves (claws?) are the size of dinner plates.

Our sheep and goats are not amused, and I haven’t yet broken it to them that my husband is now intent on fitting a camel into our homestead plan.
